The Information Library of Technology Infrastructure, also known as the ITIL, represents the pre-eminent ITIL framework for the management of IT service delivery worldwide. ITIL accurately defines a service life-cycle model, which prescribes specific processes and activities during IT services design, development, delivery, and support.
ITIL is derived from two source terms namely Information Technology (IT) and Infrastructure Library (IL). ITIL arose in response to the need for the best IT Service Management practices and procedures.
ITIL’s focus is on keeping IT Services aligned with the organization's business needs.
By adopting the ITIL framework, organizations ensure their services are delivered as per well-defined and consistent processes incorporating the best practices and processes, which result in predictable service levels for users.
For many IT professionals, a successful career in IT Service Management (ITSM) begins with an ITIL certification. The ITIL Foundation Certification is the starting point. There are various ITIL Levels and possible roles awaiting a dedicated IT professional pursuing ITSM.
With ITIL Foundation Levels, the importance of ITIL certification and the scope for career growth is even more lucrative. The ITSM career journey ranges from the novice to the executive from the service desk technician to the IT operations manager.
Like other technology certifications, ITIL levels focus on IT professionals' business skills. This might not support locating the subnet mask for an IP address. But, it sure imparts the management skills to deal appropriately with a wide variety of organizational issues.
ITIL Certification Level is suitable for professionals who desire to deliver effective changes to their organization. It is suitable for IT Managers and Directors, as certification at the ITIL foundation level is a valuable credential for IT Project Managers.

There are five major ITIL levels:
- Foundation
- Practitioner
- Intermediate
- Expert
- Master
At every point, prospective test-takers take interest in the cost of ITIL. The cost of ITIL Foundation certification is usually the lowest and the price for other ITIL levels increases on.
ITIL exams are typically administered in the course of an ITIL. Qualifying exams may be carried out at a school or online. As with ITIL training, the cost of exams can differ from the training provider, country, and region.
As with any IT certification, there are many possible ways of meticulously preparing for it. Your study directions can involve a combination of classroom teaching, online, or self-study courses.
We highly recommend taking up ITIL level certification training from an ATO and reading as much as you can, asking many questions, and writing notes. You may in addition use examples from the real-world in planning for your test.
